Award-winning Southern roots duo blending blues, soul, and rock with unstoppable energy
📰 PRESS & REVIEWS
“Sometimes being too diversified can alienate an audience. But each song, no matter how different, has the firm stamp of style from South Carolina’s Pam Taylor. This artist is compelling, interesting and on this LP – no last gasps of an old tradition. Here — it’s all potent.”
— No Depression Magazine
“Her songwriting is crisp and guitar playing exceptional. She is full of tempered sass and a curiously innocent self-confidence that is refreshing. ‘Squeeze Me’ is superior to similar music made by a variety of contemporary mainstream country artists. All Taylor needs is support to achieve escape velocity into something greater.”
— All About Jazz
“Pam Taylor brings her bluesy good vibes to Dr. Mac Arnold’s Blues with heartfelt vocals, southern charm, and an undeniable groove.”
— Shutter16 Magazine
“Pam Taylor sings the body electric on Steal Your Heart — a record that moves from roots to rock to redemption with fearless grace.”
— Confessing the Blues
"Steal Your Heart encapsulates what a consummate blues to rock to country and back again album should be. All in all, it’s a great personal statement of love for all three genres." — Shutter 16 Magazine

Pam Taylor & the Flyin’ V – Official Bio- Long
Genre-Bending Roots Rock with Soul, and Storytelling
Pam Taylor & the Flyin’ V aren’t just a band — they’re a two-person powerhouse redefining what roots-based music can sound and feel like. Fronted by award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist Pam Taylor, with her partner Peter Von — the “Flyin’ V,” a one-man rhythm section who plays bass and drums simultaneously in a style he calls “basscussion” — the duo creates a massive, full-band sound that electrifies audiences and moves souls. With Taylor’s fiery guitar playing, raw, emotional vocals, and signature blend of Southern rock, blues, country, and soul, their music hits that sweet spot between vintage groove and modern grit. Each performance is a journey — equal parts heartfelt storytelling, blistering musicianship, and spiritual revival — where the line between artist and audience disappears, and the room pulses as one.
Pam Taylor first made waves with her debut album Hot Mess, which climbed to #1 on the Roots Music Report, announcing her arrival as a force in the modern blues and roots scene. Her follow-up, Steal Your Heart, reached #20 on the Blues Rock Review charts, cementing her reputation as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Southern music. After years of touring, writing, and healing, Pam joined creative forces with Peter Von to form Pam Taylor & the Flyin’ V — a partnership born from love, music, and a shared mission to bring authenticity back to the stage. Together they’ve built a sound that’s deeply personal yet universally resonant, drawing on the spirit of classic influences like Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band — but infused with their own fearless experimentation and magnetic chemistry. Their upcoming record, featuring the highly anticipated single “The Legend of Kuhn Hollar,” captures their genre-bending spirit — equal parts Southern folklore, soulful rock anthem, and funky back-porch jam — recorded at WAV Lab Studios with some of the region’s finest musicians.
Onstage, Pam Taylor & the Flyin’ V embody the mantra “Peace, Love & Groove.” From intimate songwriter circles to festival main stages, they fill the air with positive energy and fearless authenticity. Pam’s stage presence radiates confidence and compassion — a true “songteller” who lays her truth bare through every lyric and guitar solo — while Peter’s rhythm magic turns heads and raises eyebrows, proving that two people can sound like five. Together, they’ve graced stages across the Carolinas and beyond — from headlining the Southern Resonance Roots Festival in NC to the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland to the Canton Blues Fest in Ohio— sharing bills with celebrated artists and earning the admiration of both fans and peers for their musicianship, creativity, and undeniable chemistry.
